Hi all

What's the general consensus on the dollar value pre or post election.

I'm thinking that whoever gets in the dollar will strengthen after the period of uncertainty.

Sorry, disagree here.

The market reaction at the news of the FBI re-opening the investigation in to Clinton was very Dollar negative. Trump presidency is not seen as good news for the US economy, so in that case I would expect, in the short term at least, that the USD would be sold.

So for an unsavvy punter wanting a small punt £3-5k, would a well out of the money put option be the best bet. I don't want something where I could get stopped out and then watch it go the right way afterwards.
