We went around the factory in July, and there wasn't a lot going on there 747-wise.

Yeah, the rumour was that the two new Airforce One 747's that had been ordered recently would end up being the last two off the production line......but, I guess that's now not going to be the case.

You do know that Air Force one indicates the aircraft the president is on don't you?

Yes I do, but its just easier to write that so most people will know what is being talked about rather than using the term Boeing VC-25.....which is a bit too geeky for most I felt.

We did the tour last month and were pleasantly surprised by the number of 747s being built, with about half of them being passenger planes too. Guess there's life in the old girl yet!

UPS originally wanted the A380 freighter but cancelled orders when there was no date for delivery. As long haul cargo increases the 747-8 is one of the only options

Given we were talking about the 747's which are only operated by the USAF..........
