After 20 years of pestering them, my parents finally caved in and are doing trackside "camping" themselves as well, so I bought them a ticket for their campervan at PZ54, thinking it was a campsite. Turns out it's a parking! (PZ = parking zone, I guess?)

Is camping allowed there? Is it any good? Or should I get them a ticket at Maison Blanche 105 m² if available?

Any experiences welcome!

We've stayed on PZ54 and Expo with our motorhome. I believe technically they are the only 2 places motorhomes are allowed, despite the fact that obviously they are seen in all campsites.

PZ54 is just a big hard standing car park basically but it is for motorhomes only and so is of course a campsite. If you're lucky (and get there early enough) you can park at the edge and get power but they don't really like you doing it. It's not a bad place to stay but it's quite a walk up to the main entrance and the village.

Thx Gary!

They've got a motorhome about this size, I take it it will fit there?

Hmmmmm, officially it's the standard 7 x 5m size I seem to remember. The one we had at the time was about 7.5m long and we did stick over a bit. If they're not too worried about cost I'd probably get 2 tickets to be on the safe side as you only need a miserable marshall to ruin your week otherwise!
