I'm hoping one of the resident experts here can help me with this.

I have a Panasonic screen which I use with an AppleTV (the newer version that has only the single HDMI output). I would like to route the sound to a stereo pair of wireless/bluetooth speakers. The screen itself has optical and coax digital outputs that both work when it is fed by HDMI from the AppleTV.

Can someone point me towards a pair of speakers fed wirelessly by some sort of small base unit that will accept the optical or coax digital audio feed?

My original hope/plan was to achieve this with a pair of Sonos Play:1's, but I can't find a way of getting the signal to these. I'm looking for something of similar quality/size/budget, ideally in white.

The TV lives in a cabinet with a motorised hoist (we are - I have learned - far too posh to have it on view...) so there's no space for a sound bar which would have been the obvious solution.

All ideas gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

The Sony SRS-ZR5 can accept HDMI ARC and can be paired with other speakers to provide stereo or act as surrounds for a soundbar or soundbase. Probably not exactly what you need though. Would a compact receiver and wired speakers (wireless ones need power anyway) not do what you need?

Thank you - I hadn't thought of a receiver and passive speakers. Something like this: http://www.denon.co.uk/uk/product/compactsystem/mi... might be good. I am researching now.....

Getting something that will accept Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus/DTS would be advisable if its primary use will be with a TV and streamring services.
