Zoom G5 or G3X ?

Does anyone have any experience of either of these effects boards ?
I'm a beginner (18 months learning) and have been using mainly electro-acoustic but now want to start on electric.
I have a Fender Mustang I but am not happy with the complicated method of setting effects (no display of current settings on the amp) so I thought an easy-to-use board would be better.

I have the G5 and recommend it highly. With four screens it's pretty easy to see what's going on, and the proper footswitches mean it's quite straightforward to control, although you also need to get used to the idea of using two footswitches simultaneously. I have been playing a long time and never been impressed by multi-effects, but the G5 has turned me round on the whole idea. Most the effects are top-notch (the EQs are a touch weak, and some effects veer into novelty territory - "Bomber - this effect creates an explosive effect while picking" - it's as bad as it sounds) and the amp sims are simply breathtaking. I think I even prefer the vibe of the whole thing to Guitar Rig, which is high praise. Pretty much one of the best bits of kit I have ever bought, and not expensive. I used it at a small outdoor gig last year and Bruce (you know Bruce?) said "you know, I was listening to your guitar sound, and trying to think of a single way it could be improved, but I couldn't think of anything".

I think I'll go for the original G5. Reviews say the newer G5n is not as good as the footswitches are so badly designed. I know about the double switch press to change preset banks but don't think that will be an issue for me at my stage of learning.
I"be seen a used G5 on sale for £150. Does that sound reasonable ?

I have the G3x which has the same processors as the G5 I believe. I've not had it long and bought it used but as new for only £70. I figured if it wasn't great I could punt it on.

Anyway I've been pleasantly surprised. I think my THR10 produces better tone but I'm still experimenting with the zoom. The presets are pretty horrible but you can get some great sounds from it. Looper function is very useful too although could do with more than a 40 second limit

I've had a rethink about the g5 and now will try and get a g3x or g3 and separate expression pedal. Reasons are the price difference and operation on battery power. I was going to buy a looper and drum machine anyway so that will be covered by the g3.
Should be everything I currently need.
