door sill plate

Does anyone know what metal the door sill plate that says "hand made in England" is made of? I am assuming brushed aluminum. Mine is a little tarnished. What is the best way to make it shine a little more?

Stainless steel. The markings are laser etched on, anything abrasive will damage the marking.

Thanks. I removed the plate and cleaned it up with some stainless steel cleaner. It came out fine.
