I've been using eBay for a few years and have bought and sold wuite a few things on there but it seems a lot more competitive now than it used to be so am looking for any secrets/guidance which might help me get top $.
Is there a best time or day to have an auction end? I always used to make sure they ended on a Sunday afternoon when I believed lots of people might be at home surfing the net. When are you most likely to be on eBay?

Then again, if an auction for something I really want ends when I'm not available, or at 4am, I'll either put in my max bid as a proxy beforehand, or snipe it using auctionsniper etc. The latter is probably better, expecially if the item has no bids, as it doesn't give the game away. Both methods also save getting carried away in a bidding frenzy. If the item sells for more than I was willing to pay for it, there's no harm done.

I try and avoid Friday, I think its ebay's maintenance day! Ive had no end of probs viewing / bidding on items on a friday so if I were you I'd list it to finish on any other day between 20:00 - 22:00 when most people will have been able to get home and log on for the final flurry of frenzied bidding!
