Vanrooyen?

Hello, I am new to these parts, please be gentle with me!

I am looking to buy my first Porsche and I have found a very nice Cayman at a dealer in the north of England called Vanrooyen. They have a lot of exotic cars and some nice Porsches, so I wondered if anyone here knows of them and can vouch for them - or not?

Also, is there anything I should be looking for in the gen 2 Caymans? I know about the engine issues in the gen 1 but is there anything I should look for when inspecting a gen 2 car? And are independent inspections a good idea?

Thank you, I will ask them if they can do that. Is this something that they will push back on if there is a problem?

Has anyone here bought a car from them? They seem to know their stuff and have some nice cars in stock, but I am wary of all car dealers having been taken for a ride on an Elise a few years ago.

Never bought but have sold through them on SOR, decent outfit, very reliable, returned calls and emails, paid without any agro, did everything I would hope of them, I would have no hesitation buying from them and probably will do at somepoint.

Yes these are good guys. Martin their MD is very knowledgeable and a good guy to deal with.

It looks like a really nice car but is a little pricey compared to the rest I'm looking at, I assumed because of its condition, but I hadn't realised it could be sale or return, does that make a difference to buying it from them, such as negotiating the price, or the warranty? I will be going to take a look at the weekend.

From a warranty POV won't having a Carnewal exhaust exclude it? As I understand it for a Porsche extended warranty any modifications are forbidden.

Some people don't get on with the multi function steering wheel and PDK combination since you miss out on paddles.

If you are cool with that fine, otherwise push them for a discount to change to a sports steering wheel with paddles (get a quote from Porsche).

If it's SOR they'll have less margin to play with... shouldn't make any difference with finance \ warranty etc though.

I was told by Porsche Wilmslow that warranty is only transferable via approved used or direct private sale and not through an independent.
