You should use one of those plastic trim remover instead of a screwdriver, just insert it and slide it and the little tab will unhook... Where did you get your Carbon Fiber caps and how much were they?? as I am looking for some but the $$$$ is crazy, thanks

My understanding is that you need to fold in the mirrors before you attempt to remove them.

Use a plastic trim tool remover on the corner and carefully prise off the fitings.

I'm sure if you search the internet enough there is a guide. I'll see if I can find it and post a link.

I also bought and fitted CF caps to my car last year and posted this information below.
Also refer to the post from Karlfranz which I also refer to in my post

Or do what happened to me yesterday.....park it on the drive with a incline, fail to put the handbrake on properly but not apparent when i got out of the car. Then on its way down the drive way the passenger mirror hits the gate post and said cover comes clean off!!!
Car then rolls across the road and into garden neighbours garden where it parks itself neatly on their drive!!
To say my heart on finding my car 20m down the drive from where i parked it gave me palpitations was a understatment.
Straight onto Astonbits for a new cover.

Or, do what advised in above comments!

Well my body shop got them off in under a minute so it can't be hard. If you are changing them why not pop it into a body shop and let them do it why you wait.

Well that is one way. Holy crap! Leve in gear from now as I guess. Very lucky by the sound of it. I did the same with a Jag when visiting a garage once. Kicked the handbrake getting out of the car. It rolled into a ditch and we heard the alarm going off, fortunately no damage and they got their tow truck to pull it out!

Fold the mirrors in. Use a thin plastic pry and start at the corner closest to the window. Push the plastic pry gently but firmly between the mirror cover and the mirror edge that surrounds the mirror glass. Pry the mirror cover from underneath the mirror edge. This releases the top of the mirror cover allowing the cover to be removed.

I have ordered these CF mirror caps and they are looking great. I have compared them with my friends original CF caps on his V8V and there is no chance to see a difference.
Check the link and you will be surprised about the price ...

Hi,

I bought the same CF covers, but when putting them on, they are not very well adjusted/aligned. The lower outside edge is out by 0.5mm.
I guess I have to try again and again to install them until they are perfectly aligned with the rest of the mirror housing smile
Any tips?

Cheers
Fred
