Afer many lambo's and rari's thinking of a complete change and getting an i8 and re-painting to lava green so that it looks similar to car delivered to Abu Dhabi recently

Thoughts please and who should I go to for paint job near to middx/bucks border?

Thanks

To do it properly an approved i8 bodyshop such as Bodytechniques in Slough might be worth a chat

When the potential cost scares you a full wrap may be more palatable

Not sure of the actual colour, but I saw a very similar car here in Andover a couple of months ago. At the time I described it as "Kermit Green" and it looked absolutely awesome. I say that as a fellow ex-Ferrari, presently Lambo driver. So if the question is "Should I do it?", then the answer is, "Absolutely!"

As to how, my understanding is that BMW don't have the capacity to paint non-standard colours at the factory, so any such cars are painted "in-country" after import. With that in mind, I'd probably save myself a fortune, buy the car in resale-friendly white and have it wrapped.......

As others have said, it will look fantastic but you will never sell it, get it wrapped far easier and it protects the paint.

Give Mark or Adam a call at supercar paint protection in Kent.

Wrap will be cheaper and better come resale.

Are you buying brand new or used ? There are some good offers on new ones currently

Last week I was offered £15k off a brand new one without even starting any negotiation on price. Guess there will be more than that on offer come December

Yep, friend of mine just bought a new i8, got £15k off list price and zero per cent finance over 4 years.

Don't do anything until you talk to Michael Hobbs at MULGARI in Bracknell. They have pics of an i8 recently finished. I don't believe you will better the job they have done.

I've driven the i8.

Its completely contrived. An engine noise is piped in via the rear speakers, it's very disconnected as a car. Super overpriced and I'd worry a lot about selling it.
All it scores on is looks, people really do stop and stare at it, noticeably.

Lava Green is a cool colour for a sports car though

If you want an alternate point of view, out of all the cars I've driven I'd still take the i8 over just about everything other than a 650S. It feels 200kg lighter and 100hp more powerful than it actually is, and the damping is superb. Plus you can drive it like you stole it and get 30mpg instead of 7mpg, and if you decide to go for a drive at 5am you won't ps off the neighbors. I wouldn't take one on track, but for real world use?

You might want to try a thread in the EV section to catch a few more owners but I've not seen mention of this issue in any discussion group

It seems extremely unlikely that this should be needed within two years maximum of new

Could you share more details of your problem ?
