Hi
I have a 06 V8V and wondered if a iPod could be connected to the standard stereo in any way.
Thank you
Ian

Yes if you get Dension. Otherwise, no.

You can also have this:

https://www.parrot.com/uk/car-kits/parrot-mki-9000...

I have this installed in my MY07 V8V. I had it installed as part of my car purchase in 2013. Good bit of kit, screen is hidden in the ashtray compartment. The cables are in the glove box and I have valcro the controller to on the dash.

It has a audio jack lead and an old iPod connector for my iPod classic. However, you could get the apple connector to be able to use a more up to date iPod, like the iPod touch for instance. However, the kit may now come with this connector now.

Gateway 500 is great for the job. Works via the radio display as a CD emulator, USB or 30 pin dock connector. Viseeo (Bovee) Tune2air will then make it A2DP streaming capable (available on Ebay for about $110). There is a converter available that gives a USB to lightning connection, but I've had a few issues with them (they may be just early versions though).

The Mki kits are also good for the job, however they rely on using the Parrot's own amplifier, which is a bit weedy compared to the premium sound system and will only run four speakers, not the front centre or the sub. The best way to connect them is to utilise the cars existing bluetooth wiring harness which will use the front speakers for the hands free audio whilst muting the rest of the audio system. There is a low level output on the Parrot kit which can then be connected to a MOST gateway interface to utilise the cars amplifier and speaker system when playing music through the kit. The thing to remember with these kits is that there is no control or display via the car's system, the Parrot kits rely on a separate display (9100/9200) and a separate remote control device.

Sorry if it's a bit technical, please feel free to contact me for more explanation.

All the best,

James

There is also the GromAudio MST4 which connects to the MOST optical network so control is by the existing CD buttons and uses the Aston amp.
Cheaper than the Dension but you cant use the cars cd player

Here are a few images of the above in my car. (and you can still use the CD player)

As above, Parrot have probably changed the iPod connector to the new connector. If not, you can purchase an adaptor for something like the iPod touch etc.
