I'm looking to dispose of a couple of things but don't trust eBay and the fekkin eejits which seem to inhabit it these days, so looking for suggestions.

First is an early Squier Popular Strat in White, serial SG02*** dating it to '83/84 I believe. This has Fender US hardware and is almost unmarked, despite being gigged for several years. I have owned it since buying it from Guitar Express in Newcastle in about 1985.

Second is something I haven't seen for sale for years; a JHS Rockbox multi-effects analog processor. Owned from sometime in the 70s, this is the unit which Boston reputedly used on 'More than a feeling'. With headphones plugged in, I have never yet heard a more 'expansive' sound; it is immense!

So, back to the point - where is best to advertise these to best effect please?

In regards to the Strat, do you have original packaging/case candy/neck tags and receipt? Also i think theses came with an Ashtray bridge cover? If so I'd clean it up as good as I can, get a set up, lots of HQ photos of the neck pockets, pots, pickups etc. to prove how original it is and first try round on the Fender/Squier forums, TGP, HC and ebay. There will be collectors and the more you have from the purchase, the more excited they get, and if you sell it this way, no big fees involved. Otherwise your best chance will be local boutique/vintage dealers where the clientele will be able to distinguish it from your normal Squier/The dealer has contacts who will buy it if the items right.

Strange market for these. 2012 you'd get a minter for around £800ish. I see on eBay one up for £1300? Great guitars and probably better players than most 79/78's but for that money I'd be going with a late 70s.

Don't know too much about the RockBox. Most vintage pedal dealers want old Cornish/Fuzzes/MIJ Boss/EHX etc. pedals so not sure they'd be too bothered. Maybe contact Joe @ http://www.joespedals.com/ for more info? I could be wrong and it's worth a fortune!

Nothing from the original sale, I'm afraid - it was s/hand at the time.

??? Wossat?

BTW - not long ago I gave away my MIJ Boss CE -2 and DD-3 (5?) pedals...and sold a WEM copycat for the minimal price of the bits I'd used to fix it, £15 iirc. I'm far too generous. smile
