Where to set off bombs?
Discussion
A mate of mine who shall remain nameless, but let's call him Jez
, spent some time living in benders in Wales, mooching round the country with the so-called 'peace convoy' etc. etc.
Anyway he and a couple of mates decided that if there was a Police raid, they might 'need' some munitions. So they acquired various nitrates and so on, and mixed them up in appropriate proportions (no doubt found a recipe in a public library in Llangollen or somewhere equally unpronounceable
) and then looked around for a suitable container.
They settled for a length of tube that was the handle of an ASDA shopping trolley. They packed the tube, flattened the ends, installed a fuse, then lit a spliff or three.
Suitably inspired, they set off on a Suzuki 850 to find a target. In a quiet Welsh village there was a phone box. Not any more.
The lads thought that a loud bang and some broken glass might ensue; they didn't bargain on the broken glass being in the houses a hundred yards away. The phone box collapsed in a pile of shattered cast iron as the door was blown into a field.
Once they'd got back to the camp, ever-more daring and malicious schemes were brewed, and plans laid to produce more explosive.
Jez sneaked out and buried the remainder of the mix and refused to partake any further, but I suspect that when at a later date he was dragged from a coach and beaten-up by the Police, he may have wondered whether he did the right thing.

Ah sodium nitrate, I and a couple of pals were past masters of using this stuff to good effect, we invented the rotary flying beer can, the anti personel camping gas canister, projectiles that would punch through a tree, exploding rail rods etc. We collapsed a cliff, blew windows out in a council estate, severed the mains to some poor bastards bungalow and nearly killed a policeman. Those were the days
