Hello,
I've had a few first drafts of some logo designs through.
Bear in mind this is for a woodland retreat business, aiming at the luxury end of the market, roll top copper bathtubs, treehouses, hot tubs etc.
Target market is couples from towns and cities, between about 25 and 50
This logo will feature quite heavily, towels, toiletries, leaflets, website, uniforms etc, so we want a strong and timeless brand image.
I'm 99% that none of the designs below will be "the one" and they need a little bit of work to refine them, but at this stage, what's the most visually impacting, what portrays the business best and ultimately, what's your favourite?
Thanks

2. But perhaps make some changes - make it look more like a spring/summer flowery decorative thing rather the sparse autumnal version it currently appears to be.
(what I'm actually visualising is like a delicate floral arrangement that wispy maidens wear on their hair)
Does the motif have to feature curved lines - perhaps you could have many different types of grass, flower, thistle etc in a circular arrangement instead?

1. Is just odd. Trees don't grow sideways. Its a visual typo, and as such is jarring
2. My choice. I actually like the autumnal colours unlike some on here. Autumnal makes we think of relaxing, cosy, woodlands, family. A more summery colour scheme would make me think more active, sporty, energetic... so it depends on yor taget market.
3. It's OK. Distinctive but looks serious - more solicitor than holiday
4. No. Just no.

Olde worlde go 2, if modern minimalist go 1.
3 is bloody awful. 4 looks like a "concept company" like alternative recruitment, or some form of consultancy. It's just too sterile to look welcoming.
3 is far, far too busy I think and I agree on 4 as well - it looks quite 'big corporate' - like a hotel brand, rather than an individual boutique type operation. 3 is bloody awful. 4 looks like a "concept company" like alternative recruitment, or some form of consultancy. A sort of hybrid between 1 and 2 would work. The above advice is quite good. Personally - and this will sound odd - they are a little too 'stylish' - something I would associate with a city business.
The key is trying to be a little more homely/rural/rustic without being twee. It only needs a little nudge in that direction though.
I know this is articulate pretty poorly, but I suppose its where designers earn their money!
