I'm looking to get a black bezel for my rolex GMT master, stopped wearing it a few years ago due to the bi metal bracelet becoming too blingy for my tastes.fitted it with a rubber B strap that i really like BUT i would like to fit it with a matt black bezel similar to what is fitted to the yachtmaster. I won't sell the watch for sentimental reasons yet it seems a shame to not wear it.

the outer part of the bezel seems to be harder to find.

If you're in/near London take it to Rolex St James Square & they'll fit a new one, while you wait, for about £40.

Good call ^^^ Rolex at St James or try a Rolex boutique. I was in one a while back looking at other watches (wearing my black bezel GMT) and they offered me the Pepsi and Coke bezels for a bit of variation. Circa £40 and they'd fit using their in-house staff.

How easy are they to change ? Would love a bit of variation but wouldn't want to damage it.

Rang Rolex boutique in Leeds, whilst not being unhelpful they couldn't help...
"the rolex that you have,is what it is,we cannot modify it because Rolex frown on it".

They're pulling your plonker!

I sent my GMT II back to Rolex for repair a few years back and asked them replace the red/blue with a black bezel at the same time.

It came back with a black bezel no questions asked or comments passed.

i believe it clicks into place , you need to slide a blade or a flat screwdriver under the bezel and it should! pop off.

I would rather a watchmaker do it though.

As for looking for a bezel , join the vintage watch forum on Facebook , theyve loads of bezels on there for sale , from ghost bezels to fat fonts .

I sold a black bezel on there for a 100 quid. The rarer bezels can go for up to 1500 pounds and more.
