Hi all

I'll be picking up a 98 Griff 500 in a couple of weeks from David Gerald. Really impressed with the car and after trying a Cerbera and a Tuscan decided that this was the car for me, plenty fast enough and has all the right attributes, gorgeous sound, convertible, tried and tested technology(: I am not expecting the most reliable car in the world, if so I would have looked at another make. Although I do run a Volvo T5 which I think for the money is a great value quick car (quick as opposed to the Griff which is FAST). Can't wait for it to be mine...

What did people do before these forums were invented?

Cheers

We all sang songs around the piano until it got dark. Aye, we made our own fun in them days....

Sorry, couldn't resist it!! Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it!

Hmmm... I wonder if there's something in Griff 500 drivers that makes them buy Volvo T5s? Or vice versa?? Curiouser and curiouser...

Do any of you go to the Volvo Performance meets? Might take the Griff along next time for a laugh.

"YUM" has a chimaera and a T5
I think its the power and practicality stakes that go together

Andy,

Is it the light blue Griff with the Wedgewood interior, if so I looked at that one myself and it is a beautiful car, I just failed to persuade the wife!

I bought my Griff from David Gerald in Nov last year and it has been extremely reliable. They seem a good bunch to deal with. I have them service mine as well because they are about half the price of my local dealer.

Happy Griffing!

Cheers

Tis the very one. Seems the business to me.
I was introduced to TVR's about 12 years ago when a friend of mine from Redcar (Cleveland) bought a red 3000S Turbo convertible from David Gerald. I think they are quite rare aren't they?

I was wondering if anyone has fitted an upgraded sound system to a griff and what worked well? Looking forward to meeting fellow TVR enthusiasts at meets etc.

What did you go for in the end then?

Cheers

Stainless Steel Exhaust

Other than checking the stereo worked I've never once felt the need to listen to any thing other than that big 5.0 V8 in the Griff

Get the car first then decide if you need any tunes.

My neck of the woods! I grew up in Marske, which is more or less annexed to Redcar now.

Been in the Midlands for 15 years though; no work in the North East. Mind you there's bugger all down here now either!

Welcome to the fold mate, and lets have some pics of the car posted once you get it!

It certainly seemed a good one to me too...

I stayed with my existing one (pics in my profile ...follow the link). He's looking out for a moonraker black one with a pale interior for me.

Whereabouts in the country are you, there's usually a club nearby to visit.

Cheers

Hi
I just kinda knew this one was the best one I had seen so far in terms my personal preferences, colours etc and in termsm of condition.

As far as the drive itself I must confess that I had only driven Cerberas and Tuscans before this and no Griffs, maybe it is a mistake to rush into these things but I knew it was the one for me. It drove very well, engine sounded spot on and seemed a genuine, tight car, accelerated quicker than I expected and stopped very well when the brakes were warmed up..
