Which Christmas hamper as a gift?

When I needed to do this I wandered in to my local deli. They put everything in to a cardboard box but everything was nicely wrapped and I was able to tailor the contents for the receiver.

The value for money was through the roof compared to off the web and ended up with better products. You also get to support a local business.

Maybe I get the name bit but the hamper I put together was better quality and more personal than something off the shelf.

I guess it depends if you are looking to impress or reward the recipient.

Fortnum's is a safe bet, good quality products, alternatively John Lewis do a range of hampers to suit all budgets

The "Majestic" hamper at £199 looks good, champagne, cognac, port, wine, decent nibbles and the hamper is kitted out for future use for picnics with porcelain plates and cutlery.
