Going through some old paper work today and was reminded that I had a small pension that I stopped paying into years back (I think it was an opt out of serps thing).

It's a pot now of about £6k (I said it was small) is there anything worth doing with it? i.e. Take it now and have a holiday?

I do have other pensions that I still contribute to, but was advised a couple of years back not to top them up.
Oh and not 60 until 2020.

Look at the possibility of transferring it into one of the "others" you already have.

That would seem logical but my Scottish widows has a guaranteed 9% annuity and won't except a top up.
(Not as good as it sounds as they've not added any profits for 16 years)
And my Pru policy started in 1985 is similar, I could put more money in but may not get any extra out?

These statements don't seem to fit together. What are you still contributing to? A Pru life policy started 40 years ago with ongoing monthly premiums?

I have 3 similar small pots which I haven't made contributions to since 2004,2005 and 2009 respectively. They seem to go up above the rate of inflation each year. Last year I had a 3%, 6% and 9% rise in their values. This year I've had a 16% increase in value for 1 of them , not heard from the other 2 yet. I don't need to release the money and am happy that they seem to be doing well without me doing anything and the management charge is very small.

Is your small pot doing reasonably well year on year?

Both pension policies.
The Scottish Widows has a guaranteed annuity rate of I think 9.6% and the the Prudential pension has a guaranteed minimum pension, I can add to them but there's no guarantee that it will add to the final pot (so I was told a couple of years back)
