Personal Settings - Memory

I've got 14 way electric seats but I'm confused about the memory package. I've seen reference somewhere that you can elect to automatically save changes to your seat setting, heating etc. to your key when you switch off your vehical.

I can't find this setting.

Sometimes when I start the vehicle it sets the climate control to what I think is my default (22) but other times its starts up at the heat setting at the end of my last journey. Seems a bit random.

Speed limit on Multi Function Display

On my 981 the current speed limit is displayed on the Multi Function Display.

It's gone missing on the 718.

It is displayed on the right edge of the PCM, in a position that's obscurred by my left hand on the wheel.

Anyone managed to display the speed limit in MFD?

Wasn't that an extra option on the 981?

I thought so, same on the 718 iirc (definitely on the base version anyways)

I think it was two options, one chargeable that reads the road signs and a no charge one that displays the speed limit set in the maps.

Don't you need to press the Set button followed by the Key button as per the notes in this URL:

Yes I press the Set button. But there is something called Auto Memory which remembers changes regardless of whether you press Set.

Do you press Set and then the Key button to store your settings as, when returning to your motor and opening with the same key, I believe your saved settings should be restored?

When you do this, on returning to your car, are the Ergonomic settings below restored:

Ergonomic settings:
Driver's seat
Steering wheel
Door mirrors

I presume that the Comfort settings (including your A/C quesition) are not enabled on your vehicle (or any 718) for restore:

Comfort settings:
Instrument cluster
Air-conditioning

I'll run some experiments. We should arrange a 718 owners meet up.

Most modern cars hold their existing settings for a few hours after switch-off. Not sure if/how long that applies on 718.

All I do know is 981 turns on the bloody radio every single time I start the car! My other cars stay muted if that's where I left them....

I set the input to Aux to keep it quiet.

You need fully electric seats (14 or 18 way) to have the memory functions. The speed limit display in the multifunction display requires Speed Limit Display plus PCM NAV.

Yes, that's what I do - although there's an annoying electrical buzz from the alternator unless the volume is turned down low.

It's still the best solution though.

Was in my OPC today having my winter wheels fitted. The salesman advised that the 981 displayed the speed limit on the Multi Functoion Display. On the 718 it's no longer standard and only shown if you get the camera for traffic sign detection.
