The amount of knowledge on PH never ceases to amaze so let's see if you can come up with the goods this time...........

Basically I'm on X-Box Live, sharing my PC's internet connecton (ICS). All was fine & dandy until my PC caught a virus or two & now my X-Box can't see the internet. Viruses are now fixed (I think!)

After trawling through various settings & phoning 50p a minute helplines (grrrrr), it would appear that my primary internet connection is no longer configured for ICS.

When I try & use the wizard it tells me to do it manually, & when I do it manually, I get the message: "error 1060: specified service is not an installed service". Aside from this the XP firewall is no longer active either, which I also can't re-initiate.

Any ideas people seeing as each helpline I phone tells me someone on another helpline is the one I should be speaking to?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need to run an OS repair. You should be able to do this by booting from your OS CD and selecting repair. This might break some of your other installed software.
