No food, no weight loss
Discussion
I've just had norovirus. Two days of trying various routes to evacuate my body. I had a slice of toast last night which was rejected. Around midday today had some soup - you would not believe how delicious it tasted - and this evening a littler cereal, which has given me no problems.
Following demands from my wife I have maintained my normal intake of water for the last day and a half, although a sip at a time.
I've just weighed myself. I've lost less than 2lbs.
Talk about kick a man when he's down.
But why so little?

How many kg of solid food do you think you would normally have eaten in two days?
Then remember that solid food is mostly water too, and you are keeping your fluid intake up to avoid dehydration.
So you are down less than a kg net.
So simply not eating is a poor method of weight loss. Unless you really don't eat anything for months.

I'm feeling OK now, thanks. First morning without a headache. Real bonus.
For a whole day, about 10 hrs, I ran high a temperature, shivering for a while. I tried taking pills but kept throwing them up. I would have thought that would have taken a bit of energy to keep going.
I feel weak but I've got my brain back this morning. As much of it as I ever have. I really struggled at Pointless yesterday afternoon. That's not a good sign.
I'm surprised that I don't feel hungry. I normally do after being ill. I know I'm going to get the 'but you'll have to eat something' from my wife at lunchtime. She didn't cook anything while I've been ill so as not to make me throw up so I owe her. I'll have to try.
I had flue once and lost over a stone.

I weigh around 65kg and last year had sickness + diarrhoea for 2 days.I didn't eat for those 2 days and lost 9 lbs !
This doesn't help, you know. You should be boosting me, telling me it shows I have little fat. I feel bad enough as it is without you dropping more than half a stone. I had half a slice of toast in two days, and threw that up within 10 minutes.
By the way, I've suffered in the past from a saw anus after evacuations at speed. I was told to wipe said spot with Savlon (other medications are available) after each explosion.
Whilst I have some soreness I don't feel the urge to scratch, which is a bonus.
(You have to throw the tube away afterwards.)
I had this for 48 hours last week and lost 6lbs temporarily. Has now balanced to an overall 2lbs loss.
My core is still aching from the involuntary pooping and vomiting
On the plus side -
I've had a good ab workout
I've lost a couple of pounds
My poop-water was so clear after the first evening I could bottle it as drinking water
