And here we are. Half-past three in the morning; I can't get no sleep.

I only smoke weed when I need to annd I need to get some rest, yo, where's the cess?

I confess, I burnt a hole in the mattress. Yes, yes, it was me, I plead guilty and on the count of three I pull back the duvet, make my way to the refrigerator.

One dry potato inside, no lie. Not even bread, jam, whhen the light above my head went bam. I can't sleep, something's all over me.

Greasy, insomnia please release me and let me dream about making mad love on the heath, tearing off tights with my teeth.

But there's no relief, I'm wide awake in my kitchen. It's black and I'm lonely. Oh if I could only get some sleep. Creaky noises make my skin creep.

I need to get some sleep.

I can't get no sleep.

Sometimes I get thoughts racing round my head, stopping me getting off to sleep. When that happens I put the radio on very low and listening to talk radio or something takes my mind off whatever is racing round it. It also provides some entertainment, but not in a way that keeps you awake. I also have my last tea or coffee 5.5 hours before bed.

This tune introduced me to the world of dance and trance, was flicking through the MTV channels and this was on MTV Dance back when it was good. Just the radio edit though, the album track is great.

Managed eventually, ran out of DHC which I'm still on for my leg Op. I'll blame that rather than the hit on the crackpipe. j/k bandit

I just remembered the chorus to the Faithless song Mass Destruction is very relevent at the moment:

Whether long range weapon or suicide bomber
Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction
Whether you're soar away sun or BBC 1
Misinformation is a weapon of mass destruction
You could a Caucasian or a poor Asian
Racism is a weapon of mass destruction
Whether inflation or globalization
Fear is a weapon of mass destruction

As others have said, radio on very low does it for me, either Up All Night on 5live with Rhod Sharp, or the World Service.
I usually end up fighting to try and stay awake to listen to some interesting programme or report.
Alternatively I'll listen to a podcast or a YouTube doco on my tablet.
I suppose it's the adult equivalent of having a bedtime story!

I can't sleep without LBC turned down low on the phone at night, it's just become routine.
