Hi Gugs and girls,
Anyone buy their chimaera for less than 10.5k, or am I the all time cheap skate. Mine is 95 4.0 with 88000 miles when bought from Henley Heritage in April.

Pity the poor bugger who traded it in at HH. With their margin the poor sod probably didn't get much more than £7-8k for it....

Maybe I'm wrong...

Just noticed in your profile you are in Warwickshire, but you bought in Henley.

I live near Henley but bought in Warwickshire (Kings).

Funny old business....

Did see one for sale about a year ago in the local AutoTrader for £9,995, but it was on the V-Car (damaged repaired)

I was looking at one in the Cars for Sale section but it has been sold now and that had a 10k sticker on it.

Got mine for 7750, which is probably the reason why I had to put a 4.6 in 5 months later!

No, not saying it isn't a good buy. Just that HH may have given the poor sod that they got it from a very low trade in, that's all. I suppose they have to make a margin on it.

What was HH's service like? I struggled to get a test drive from them - but got there in the end.

I'm neither a gug nor a girl, I'm a bloke!

well i bought my l reg 4.3 chimaera about four months ago for 10250 and its great, great only 57k and very well looked after and have done 4000 miles since with only the starter motor playing up and take it to work (heathrow) most weeks ,but i think it needs the shocks replacing as they are originals ,a really nice car to drive and one of the best things i ever did ,bought privately.

I'm hanging on to every word here guys! (and gugs, girls and blokes!)

I'm trying very hard to find a Chimaera right now around the 10k mark. There are a few out there, but they're sold incredibly quickly - one of these days soon I'll find one. But in the meantime, you lot are my inspiration!

Just remember it costs the same to 'run' a £10k Chimaera as a £30k Chimaera I would never want to put anyone off buying one but just do the maths before you buy if you are pushing your available disposable income

It prob costs more to run a 10K Chimp ie more to go wrong (assuming both 10K and 30K cars are serviced by the same garage).

You may find that the cheaper Chimp costs less to insure - especially if you can get it to qualify for classic car status. Furthermore an older car can tolerate non-TVR service stamps, whereas on a shiny 1-year old you may feel you have get caught in the £700-to-change-the-plugs-trap.

Well guys - I've decided to sell mine. 1993 (K) with 41k miles and in stunning 'eclipse' blue. Lots of history (mostly TVR), new clutch, wishbones, brakes etc, new MOT last week (at David Geralds), all old MOT's with all alloy bits and virtually mint other than a slightly noisy diff. Is all waxoiled and completely straight. Doesn't overheat or play up in any way. Drives like a dream (no gurlie PAS though). Truly beautiful car.

DG's have a grey one same age and not in the same league for £13k. They offered me £10k for mine to buy in for stock but told me to ask £13k if I sold privately !! Looking for around £11,500 but the car has to be seen to be believed - it really is beautiful.

If anyones interested mail me at dexdringle@hotmail.com I'm in Worcestershire......

Sorry to use the thread as an ad guys !!

Dex - correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you buy this motor quite recently? I recall you asking lots of questions on this list. I hope you're upgrading to a newer model!
