Hi All!

I'm having some issues with the speedo on my '96 Chim 400.

Up to ~60mph it gives the speed accurately and steadily, however beyond that it goes mental, particularly under acceleration.

The odometer appears to be working normally.

First port of call was the speedo diff sensor, which has been removed, cleaned, inspected and deemed in good working order, so the problem is likely the with the dial.

Does anyone have suggestions for fixing it and/or know where I can find a replacement if necessary?

Many thanks!

First response would be send it to Speedy Cables for repair and recalibration.
Mine went there and came back 5 months later!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it a coincidence CAIgauge and speedy cables are in the same town?

I had mine repaired by ETB Instruments earlier this year. The person I spoke too is a TVR owner and he fixed and returned it within 5 days. Total cost of £61.55 inc recalibration to suit my set up. thumbup

Hi Steve,

I've spoken with a few other companies and they all suggested Speedy Cables.

I'll make their lives miserable if it takes them 5 months though, thanks for heads up!

How much did the repair set you back?

Cheers

£128.40
They say they did a complete service on it and recal.
the only fault I knew was the odometer jammed on 100K.

Sorry about that!

I should've said that I checked with ETB and they can't help if the gauges have silver bezzels, like mine do, argh!

Thanks anyway though!
