Meridian Surround Sound

Am I correct in assuming all Mclaren 650s come with a meridian system. But how would do you know if a car has the upgraded meridian surround sound system. For example with the Ferrari 458 upgraded audio, you can see the added speakers behind the seats.

Correct they all have a Meridian system but the surround element is just 3 extra speakers - 2 behind the seats and 1 in centre of top dash. About £3000 option for 3 speakers and hardly worth it or essential IMHO. The sound quality is not that much better and the standard ones in the doors are more than adequate. Not a deal breaker either way if the rest of the car is right

Personally I prefer to have the rear window down and listen to the engine

Anything is possible.

It will be a darn site cheaper to go the stereo specialist aftermarket route than MSO though.
£3000 will get you a load of kit outside of McLaren. I've seen huge installs includes amps & subs etc professionally done for less than 3 little speakers from McLaren but I just don't see the point over the standard system.

The surround sound gives you a bit more depth all round the cabin but also dampens the noise of the engine when you have the rear window down which is 100% of the time for me when the roof is up

Just collected my 650s spider its got the upgraded hifi im quite impressed good depth of sound and clarity.
