Big battlefield man here and with the release of bf1 I didn't even realise titanfall was released.
Anyway whilst spouting about bf1 to a couple pals in the gym they wouldn't shut up about titanfall 2...so much so that I bought it on the way back from work and got online that night..:
So it's my first titanfall experience and I have to say it's awesome! It's no warfare simulator like bf1 where you actually feel like you are conquering your enemy, it's simply shoot the f
k out of everything and then get in your massive f
king robot and shoot some more..... This type of game has never really appealed to me as they have always let me down in terms of handling. But this is great, it shoots really well, looks really good, is cheesy and over the top, but most of all it's FUN!!
If you like FPS online it's great. It's more like the latest cod games than any battlefields in that it's techy and the games are short and fast - but it's just simply a blast.
Highly recommended here.

Agree with the above.
Played a lot of COD up till BLOPS 2 but was put off subsequent ones because of all the boost packs etc, which ironically is what Titanfall is all about...........that and GIANT ROBOTS!!!!
When you're a pilot; ie not in your Titan, it is very COD like (as I remember it), but the Titans do give the game a bit more depth and does require an element of tactics as to when and where you'll use it.
It has reinforced my suspicion that I'm a bit too old and slow for full on twitch shooters, but as FPSs go it is good.
Shame there's not more people playing as PvP with mates would be good, and private matches would be hilarious.
I wonder if things would have been different if Infinite Warfare didn't have Modern Warfare as an add on.

Yoo-hoo, Lovechild
Guess who just picked up Titanfall 2?

Didn't realise there was a private match options - we should totally have some PH MASSIVE ROBOT battles!!
Picked this up last night. I've always been a BF fan over the twitch-mechanics of COD style shooters, but the BF1 beta left me a bit underwhelmed,' so given the positive reviews I thought I'd take a punt on Titanfall 2. Enjoying it so far. I'm just about keeping my head above water with the basic guns but it seems there's a whole range of extras that I don't seem to find the time to even think about using mid-game.
Any tips for someone new to the game?

Probably not the best qualified to answer, but:
SMG/ARs rule. CAR/VOLT are solid choices.
Keep moving. If you stay still for a while and move because you're getting pushed, throw grenades/ticks from where you've come; ie, bait players into a doorway/corridor.
Tone is a good titan.
I didn't realise what to do with credits initially, I got up to about 200 before I realised what to spend them on.
If you're a COD god and use the wall running to maximum effect use what you want, but for mere mortals who don't utilise the movement potential, the grappling hook is a good aid to movement.
Use right stick to crouch when engaging an enemy (if you use tactical controls).
Obviously check Reddit for better advice.
Above all else..........the best advice I could give.........speaking from experience......not wanting others to suffer as I have.......if you take nothing else from this post, please let it be this............If you see some bloke online called Speckle, avoid at all costs
But seriously, the fact that this game is as fun as it is and that the developers have stated that they won't charge for future DLC, it really should have more players.

I looked on HMV's site and could not find it. In fact I could not find any PC games. But you can get it on amazon now for £25

Origin have it at £33.32 so £25 at Amazon wins and I've just bought it. Now all I need to do is work out how I'm supposed to download it !
I've got it and it's awesome. The campaign is great, I'm playing on 'hard' which is just a tiny bit too difficult for me and I think that's getting me some extra mileage because it's a good looking and very fun game, so I don't begrudge the extra attempts at all. Great prep for the online game too. Can't recommend it highly enough
