Inventor / Solidworks vs Tekla X Steel

Has anyone here used both Tekla and Inventor or Soildworks?
The reason I ask is that I was made redundant recently and have what looks to be a promising lead with a company that uses Tekla X Steel.
I've been an full time Inventor and Solidworks user for many years so am pretty familiar with both packages and from what I have seen of Tekla it seems as though it is a 'Lite' version of the other programmes with a bias more towards steel structure design (the company in question are involved with portal steel frames)
So my question is .... Has anyone made a similar transition over to Tekla? Is it a fairly easy system to pick up?
I know when I started using Soildworks after using Inventor for a few years it frustrated the hell out of me.

I did Mechanical Design for 5 years, using Inventor & AutoCAD to design machinery.
I now work for a competitor, but for the Secondary Steel Framing department. To me, and this may be down to my particular role/inexperience (I'm 21), Tekla isn't as in depth as Inventor, with Inventor being hugely more powerful in what it can do.
Tekla is like most software in that playing around with it is often the best way to learn it, but likewise I've used Solidworks and because it's so similar to Inventor, you do tend to trip yourself up as things don't work the way you'd expect them to.
With Tekla being so different from Inventor/Solidworks, you tend to trip yourself up less.
Even so, I still use Inventor for niche aspects of my job as 1, the FEA is very useful for calculating steel deflections etc, and 2, no one else in my office can use it, so it sets me apart somewhat.
