Alnwick - any locals in?

Hi

Im off to Alnwick for Christmas and staying pretty close to the sea

Ive thought of taking a bike but am worried about road conditions, mainly ice

I dont expect the minor roads to be gritted and will obviously look at the prevailing weather before committing but as a landlocked midlander I have no idea if coastal areas are more or less likely to suffer from frost and ice over the winter - especially those further north on the North Sea coast

Cant guarantee the snow but I'd just bring the bike. Theres a lot of road cyclists around the area so I see winter training bikes quite a lot. The coast seems to be a degree or two warmer than inland in the winter but only for a few miles. I see plenty frost / ice at home then its just wet by the time I near the coast.
