Does this not fall foul of age discrimination laws?
Discussion
I was just browsing job vacancies and noticed one which said the following ...
I am working with a large not for profit based in xxxxx who are looking to expand their design team with two young ambitious designers ...
The team are looking for an exciting young designer ...
Surely they can't specify 'young'?

I'd imagine it's more of a badly worded hint to say they want someone less senior, less experienced, who they an pay less.
"Young" probably isn't the best way they could get that across, but reading between the lines I'd say that's what they are after.
Whether they'd care if someone older applied, who knows, maybe the MD just has a thing for the young uns.

The job title has 'junior' in it but I think junior as a job title refers more to a person's position within the hierarchy rather than their age. The specified salary is actually quite decent so I don't think it's about trying to pay rock bottom. I've done a bit of this type of work which I really enjoyed and was thus motivated to gain an accredited qualification in the area, which I have done - It's a field I really want to get into. This role would provide a perfect entry for me as it's looking for someone less experienced who can be developed, but I'm 42.
