which is faster CF of Multimedia

I have got a pda with satnav which takes Compact Flash and Multi Media memory cards, at the moment I HAve the UK on a 256 CF card nothing to flash just a standard San Disk, I am looking to add some europe maps and wondered what would be best to get. Another bigger cf card or a multimedia card. The CF works fine but don't want to spend a fortune just wondered what will work the best ?

Any Ideas ? and where is the best place to get either one?
