crazy car spouting water like big fat sperm whale

My crazy Chim keeps throwing up out of the top of the expansion tank. Without overheating. I don't think I'm overfilling (as per handbook / bible). Can't work out why. Pressure cap past it's best perhaps? Air in system? (Considering bleeding it tomorrow).
Help meeee......

If you get bubbles in the swirl tank, or it spits water out when you open the throttle, you may be suffering head gasket failure. A hydrocarbon test would confirm this. Otherwise I would suspect an air lock. Have you bled the radiator?
