Hi, I'm looking for any feedback from owners who use secure storage facilities over the winter.

I'm planning to put my Granturismo into storage from December through until March (with a reputable provider!), and I'm wondering whether I need to maintain standard insurance cover, or whether the £100k cover the storage provider offers is sufficient. Obviously, the £100K limit covers the value of the GT (which is probably about £80K to replace, realistically). In theory, this should be the only insurance I need while the car is off the road, but just wondering what others do.

Many thanks,

Ian

Tbh, I'd keep my own. What happens if Mr Storage forgets to pay his bill or goes bust?

Yeah, I think that's probably my instinct as well, the magnitude of the potential loss kind of outweighs the additional cost.

Where I store mine, storage insurance is around £5 per £1000 of value. Depends on how much you trust the storer and their finances.
