C5 ultra-short takeoff!

On the subject of JATO - only seen one - Swiss Air Force Mirage - Sion Air Base. The thrust of the engine was outweighed by the thrust of the rockets and the climb looked very unnatural ( a bit like the planes in the old Thunderbirds TV series) but it was a wonderful sight, noisy and lots of smoke.
