Hi guys

Can anyone recommend a good alloy wheel refurbishment company in Worcestershire/ South Birmingham area?
Looking for quality work rather than the cheapest possible.

Have you used him as I need somewhere a little bit closer than The wheel specialist in Erdington.I would prefer a more local but recommended outfit...

yeah hes done both my track wheels and my road wheels cant fault them. depending on the car he can supply a set of wheels so you can continue to use the car if not he has a secure lock up to store the car whilst the work is being done. he will have your wheels chemically dipped to strip whats on them already then repair any damage (curb rash ect) before powder coating them and lacquering them. chap called rob owns and runs it.

Rimstock over in West Bromwich (Church Lane, B71 1BY) are a wheel manufacturer and they have a refurb department.

Pricing is pretty good and the quality is great as they have a reputation to maintain. They manufacture both cast and forged alloys. They have refurbed both forged alloys for me and Magnesium centrelocks.

I have a number which may still be current. 0121 525 2525

The Wheel Specialist not worth a mention? They seem to be OK.

I've used them many times before they were sold off.

They are fine but the standard price is high - you need to find / wait for an offer.

I thought they were around £280 which seems reasonable ; I've previously just had wheels powdercoated in Silver or Anthracite from City Powdercoaters for £120-180 for the same day/tyre fitting and metal cap coating. I know Pristine wheels are better but they also want £400 these days.

I only ask as I'd want a Shadow Chrome finish on my wheels and am unaware of many who offer it.

I used to pay less than half that for bare 15" wheels.

Different Co. use different names - black chrome etc

Fitting costs ruin that near me. The cheapest anyone will charge to take off and refit a wheel is around £10 a wheel and warn about 19" rims getting damaged. I can get them done for almost free elsewhere but it will cost me around £20+ in fuel + time.

I too remember the days of cheaper jobs, but the rims in question were 17" with mine now being 19".

Shadow Chrome AFAIK is black with a silver topcoat smile. Originally, my wheels were polished and lacquered but being a daily I doubt they'd last (it's an M3 smile).
