Rights 8 year old daughter seems to be getting into music. Is there any kind of stereo that can stream music from YouTube or wherever music comes from these days for young people?

Must be chart pop music i.e. Always current stuff, but ability to search for bands she likes would be handy. Does anything like this exist? Must be simple not weird and techie.

Does she have a phone or an ipad etc? If so then any spotify (free with ads) or apple music - or even bluetooth speaker will do the job.

Gramofon

Plug it into a stereo and an internet connection. Use a phone as the remote and stream from any service you like (Spotify, Deezer, Tidal etc). That way, you can use any stereo and actually take it away with you if you go on holiday and she wants to carry on listening to music.

There are plenty of internet radios around, but you will be restricted to DAB/FM/internet statons, really you do need a phone/tablet to do anything else, i.e. Spotify etc. where it has Spotify Connect capability, or playing via Bluetooth from any other app. Never used free part of Spotify so I don't know how restricted it is, should be ideal for searching any chart stuff you could want.

Something with those features plus cheap tablet?

I guess either of the above are stupidly expensive for this situation?

The jbl bluetooth speakers sound very good for the money, they are never going to compete with a sonos but for the kids they are great.
