Appreciate it has had a good kicking, and wondered, role is back office with decent potential, but is the whole industry still... Fragile and unpredictable?

Prospective employer is a hardware manufacturer (drilling & separation) so sells in to fracking and mineral extraction, so is not as reliant on the north Sea as many are.

Starting to see it pick up here on US land.

However, the industry is always fragile & unpredictable even during the good times.

Difficult times still, I am a contractor and about to be replaced by a staff member, but the industry is still ticking over and there are signs of it picking up, stacked rigs going back to work etc.

So I wouldn't discount it but go in with your eyes open.

General feeling is green shoots of recovery being seen at moment but everyone still has the jitters.

Won't take much to start going backwards.

As Ct says keep your eyes open and if you're giving up a stable well paid job I'd be thinking very carefully.

Good luck smile
