Does anyone know the market for audi r8 v10s please. Do the early coupes and convertibles seem to be appreciating, depreciating or staying level?

What are good colours to buy and what are the bad
Any must have options
Do people prefer r tronic or manual
Is a coupe or convertible the better bet

I know you should buy what you prefer but if someone could help answer this question specifically re residuals that would be great

Values are in free fall. I wouldn't buy one if you care about a few quid.

On the other hand, it's only money. Do you really care about a few grand?

Are they in free fall? What makes you say that?

Yeah i always care about a few grand, id buy another car that is appreciating instead. At the end of the year if its gone up £5k as opposed to down £5k thats a £10,000 difference. Multiplied over many years and over a few cars and it surprisingly mounts up.

I'm not close to these I'm afraid, but I'm sure I've read that the early V8 manuals are holding ground and good ones have levelled off completing.

Could be an option?

Generally holding their money.

Everyone will have a different view as to whether the manual or coupe is best and is all very subjective. I generally don't like flappy paddles so bought a manual coupe after having driven a flappy paddle convertible - first time I drove one and I really enjoyed the rw bias. The coupe just didn't have the drama of the Spyder with the rear window down, but did have a beautiful
manual box. I sold it within a week and bought a Spyder with flappy paddles....

It's an R tronic which some people turn their nose up at for the smoother, quicker S tronic. I think the R has character.

Great cars, even better noise with a Miltek race exhaust.

Thanks all. Yes, the early v8's appear to have bottomed out c.£40k.

An rs6 isnt for me, its specifically an r8.

Thanks

Even if R8 values are static, you will lose out every transaction by the value of the sellers profit. Unless you are risking private sellers only, if you pay a dealer £50k for an R8, at best your buying a £45k car. You'll lose the same when you come to trade it in to buy your next one.

The sad reality is that if you flip cars regularly, the dealers will be making more money that you.

Nobody wants an R-Tronic, either a manual or the facelift S-Tronic box is best, if you can stretch to it. As long as you get an example with a nice colour scheme, enough carbon and solid history I don't see why it wouldn't appreciate or at least hold it's value. especially with manual supercars becoming more and more rare

Clearly that's boll*cks as someone above bought and preferred the r tronic. Do you actually have any actual experience or empirical data per the above or just what you read on Internet? As for RS6 suggestion, typical PH.

Neighbour has a dark blue V10, not its best hue - but that's subjective.

I don't know much about either, but he's asking about a 2 seater sports car and you're recommending a 5 seat saloon/estate. confused

I am thinking of a R8 v10 and have been watching them for a few months. The values are gently drifting down. Not sure if some of that is seasonal. There are more cars with low miles below 60k, not sure if that's seasonal or not. The v8 model I think will settle at 40k and the v10 at 50k. That's all speculation and conjecture though!

I am going to hold out until I can afford a V10. I have a V8 already (not in an R8) and I think I would always lust after the v10...

It will still be a less popular choice due to public perception of it once the S-tronic was available, it was also widely criticised in contemporary reviews (not just retrospectively). Same story with the e-gear on the Gallardo etc.

Realistic entry on a V8 is what, 40 grand aside from dogs, leggy ones, wrapped monstrosities and iffy history, I think anything in the 50 to 60 grand region for a V10 isnt going to drop that much, they seem cheaper than Gallardos which is essentially the same car under the skin, I guess thats a badge thing.

Thats just a quick thought, obviously would research more if I was actually buying one, specs, gearboxes, convertible vs coupe.

I think that buying between 60 and 80 will still see them depreciate a bit, above 80 probably quite a way to fall but the sweet spot seems to be sixty ish for a V10 and early forties for a V8.

I'd love to know your car history then. What gems have you owned that have gone up in value?

I think if you spend that 60k its a pretty safe place for your cash, as long as you dont buy that blue convertible one with the questionable mods that has been doing the rounds for some time now, or something similar.

Its a V10 mid engined Supercar, a proper one, nobody argues about that with the V10, it doesnt really have any competition in that price range,

You cant really get a Ferrari or Lamborghini for that money, certainly not anything that is anywhere near as quick or capable, then you are into Porsches and Nissan GTR's.
