Chatting to Peter(phazed)the other day, we were comparing tales of woe, and that got me thinking about a 'what have you broken thread' with pictures.

Could be interesting (or maybe not).

So for starters :_

Who knows what this is ?

Put the pink stuff in my S when I had it....new one of these required.

Not sure if this was meant as a guessing game thread...but I'm running with it.

OAT based coolant wont make your WP fail that looked like an original cast iron Ford water pump where the gland seal has just reached the end of its useful like, too many horror stories concerning OAT based coolants IMO

Maybe I should have been clearer. On mine it was unquestionably OAT that finished the seals off within hours, the pump was questionable. I decided to change it for new once removed as it was cheap and a no brainer.

Your probably right about the horror stories but this stuff exposes old gaskets and weak spots, it went from no leaks to several very quickly.

Get in there hehe
Is that oil starvation or serious over revving that's caused that, over heating oil maybe ?

Not on a Tvr but I put a nice new set of pads in once, the wrong way around, metal on metal,
I bought new discs and pads as a consequence hehe
It was a bit noisy and I thought it would settle down biggrin
Sadly no pictures of a worn brake pad plate smile
