Just purchased a FF, so we've put the old one in unheated garage till it conks out. The extra freezer space is useful and the extra fridge space will be good with the festive season coming up. Just now the garage fridge is beer only.

I've adjusted the thermostat (only the one it's a cheapo jobbie) but if I run the garage freezer @ 17-18c the fridge is @ 0c. I've adjusted the fridge to 1c but the freezer is now 13c. Is 13c going to kill us or should I just put up with a 0c beer fridge?

In the ideal world you want your fridge 2-3 degrees as it will go above and below this as doors are opened and closed etc etc. Set to 1 degree you might find it starts to freeze and then defrost veg etc so things start to spoil.

If you can get -12 in the freezer then you need to treat it as a "one month" freezer.

This explains all...

Thanks, got it. I'll wind it back down to keep the freezer right, I'll just use the fridge for beer and un crucial stuff.
