Without a pic of what you want to hide it is hard to know what you're looking for?

Cable-tidying-solutions; Mmmmmmmmm, aren't you supposed to just wedge everything into the cabinet?

Havn't got pics cos I can't be arsed pulling the rack out but I use a combination of these:

£3.50 ikea cable kit

cable sock

and the ubiquitous D-Line trunking for wall mounted stuff, mounted just on top of the skirting.

A neat way to tidy the spaghetti behind my tv would be of interest. I've tried cable tidies and even bags but still looks a mess.

I just go at it with a load of zip ties, I also have the D-Line trunking for the main TV.

Looking tidier I agree but just be careful with the power loading on those adapters. I count 12 plugs in total and the white extended appears to be piggy-backed in to the large one on the left. I realise that there are low power devices there such as sure signals but just be aware.

BTW - Those cables through the wall without the wall plug / grommits are probably causing quite a draught. If you haven't already, get a couple of cable grommit plugs or (gash option) fill with silicon sealant...

Don't worry I worked out the loads on each circuit and those two strips don't both go to that outlet.

One goes to the other side of the room which is feed from a different breaker on the panel, odd but true! Many of the devices in the cabinet are low power devices and switches. There is an optical switch, a phone, several CAT6 balun PSU's it all came in around 10a on the large strip IIRC.

There is a home automation system in there which turns off devices when they are not required too.

Thank you for pointing it out though.

And after, (The Client wanted to use the system each night after I left, meant I couldn't strip out and start again like I wanted, Note the equipment is now all in the rack!

I should buy shares in zip ties too. Though I always find another cable just afterwards that I should have done...

I'm currently building a pelmet around the room to hide Atmos speakers, a projector, discrete LED strip lighting and of course the multiple cables that are needed to connect the AV rack under my stairs to the TV at the front of the room, 9 speakers and 4 subwoofers dotted around the room and the projector at the back of the room.

This is one rear corner with one of the Atmos speakers shown and the zip tied speaker cables behind. (There will be acoustically transparent cloth like a large speaker grille between the wall and the pelmet underside so that's the best way to hide the cables too I reckon. wink ).

Another view towards the front:

I need to get Chasingracecars to tidy behind my AV rack as it's nothing like as neat as his job. boxedin

I'm not a fan of wires and so I started by moving the plug socket, virgin and aerial sockets.

And I ran the speaker wires under the floor and so I'm almost living the dream of no cables. A few are visible but it's proof I don't have OCD I suppose.

I do have a cupboard of shame though:

This is what I have to deal with, the house is a year old. So I dont want to start hacking walls up.

The biggest issue is how little cable comes out of the walls and only one twin power point to run an Amp, BD, phone, router and freeview box. Whoever specced this house really needs a kick in the gonads!

Maybe start by taking everything out of the fridge?
