I know it is not a live culture but I had the jab a week ago and feel like I've been run over!! Perhaps I was incubating the virus before the jab but this isn't fun! Anyone else had the same reaction?

Had mines yesterday. It's noted on the data sheet that the common side effects can be headache, sweating, muscle and joint pain, fever, malaise, shivering, fatigue etc...

It'll pass.

Might as well have the flu wink

My two kids had the nasal spray and didn't suffer any ill effects.

This year when I had it I thought I dodged the side effects but it was a good few days before it hit me, same with my colleague and we both felt off for a while.

Its not active fully for something like 28 days. Are you sure you didnt just get really unlucky and coincidentially got the actual flu around when you got the jab?

I'm thinking this. My secretary came in a bit rough last Wednesday so I reckon she must have dosed me up. We will see.

I have had it a couple of times, always feel rough afterwards, my wife feels fine though when she has it. I think it just varies between people...

After getting proper flu (not man flu) last year, I'm tempted to go for it this year. All the pharmacies in town are offering free flu jabs.

Any side affects?

I think if you get a dose of flu from the inactive jab, then the real flu would have been much worse. The nasal vaccine is a live vaccination, which you can catch if you have a weak immune system.

The symptoms some people get after is just where the immune system is attacking the vaccinated virus and building immunity.

I get it quite badly so opt not to have the jab, even though I'm in a high risk group.

I think last year they got the prediction for which flu viruses would be the biggest threat for the season wildly wrong, so it was almost pointless having the flu jab.

Been having mine for over 10 years now. One or two bouts total. Side effects for me are generally no flu.
