I find the W204 halogen bulbs to be a bit pants. I have fitted some super bright Oscan +150% halogen bulbs which have helped but still not great. The headlights on my 2001 MX5 with halogen HB3/4 bulbs are massively better. Has anybody replaced their halogen H7 headlight bulbs with LED replacement bulb? If so, which ones and are they a big improvement?

This isn't a question about legality. I know that they won't really be legal, just like the HID replacement kits. This doesn't make a lot of difference to me on the roads I drive. Having decent lights with good direction that help me to actually see where I am going would make a big difference.

I thought about it but all the reviews I read of LED headlight bulbs said they were a bit pap. I think I'll go with a hid kid next time I need bulbs. I have the Phillips fancy bulbs in mine and had the same ones in my E46 before I sold it, back to back the E46 lights were much better.

When I look at my lights the big roundish lens thingy inside almost looks like it's got a bit of a haze or something on it, no idea how to get in there to try and clean it though.

I was hoping LED technology had moved on a bit and there was something available to compete with HID as I don't really fancy a HID kit.

The lenses on mine are perfectly clear, it's just the light output isn't that great.
