944 Noise when reversing.

I am confused. On my 944 S2 there is a strange noise coming from the rear of the car when I reverse slowly. It does not appear to be coming from the Gearbox but just sounds like a scraping noise. I have got under the car but cannot see anything obvious. There is no noise when moving forwards.

Any Ideas?

Dragging handbrake shoe?
loose spring on the handbrake shoe?
loose brake disc backing plate?

Have you tried jacking the rear of the car up and turning the wheels back by hand, or dipping the clutch while reversing and seeing if the noise goes?

A mate had a similar slightly strange noise, and when he had his clutch changed it went away.
Mech reckoned it may have been release bearing.

Who knows?
