Rolex Warranties VOID - Rolex Policy
Federico Talks Watches

Short version Rolex clamping down on the grey market make Warranties non transferable, but in a way that hurts genuine 2nd hand sales, unless I assume through a genuine Rolex AD.

Seems to be a bit foolish to me.

and won't this bring them into conflict with saying EU rules?

I don't believe this at all, despite some YT video.

Hi Cirian, it seems that the only source for this supposed policy change is the guy on youtube. The subject is discussed and dismissed on Rolexforums.

There's been chatter about ADs holding back the hang tags and refusing to let certain watches leave stores without the protective stickers being removed first, I'd guess this tosh is just following on from that.

It goes further – some ADs have been retaining the warranty card on certain steel sports models, since last year.

I imagine it's US only.

Makes no sense. Rolex, perhaps deliberately, create the grey market by restricting supply.
