Just been looking through the year or 2 old models. None seem to have heated seats and looking at the new config page it appears not to be even an option. They seem to be pleased with themselves for offering air conditioning and a heated rear screen!
Please tell me I'm wrong and you can get an R estate with heated seats.
Thanks

having come from an Mk7 R into a 2016 S3 with heated seats as standard i would GLADLY swap the heated leather for parking sensors, folding mirrors and adaptive cruise which are NOT standard in the S3 !!

You can get an R Estate with heated seats. The new orders post BW22 have Winter Pack and Nav as standard. Mine was BW19, therefore didn't have those 'paid for' options. Shame, but no loss, as the cloth doesn't take too long to warm up. Most people wouldn't have specced Winter Pack, because it's a cost option.

Hmm nice contribution, very helpful.

OP;
Many have been on cheap lease deals so many won't come with cost options. Even though they are available.

I suspect most R's don't have leather. Generally, heated cloth seats are uncommon in just about any car, IME.

The OP had specifically asked about the Estate R.
The 'new' Golf estate looks a whole lot better than the previous generation.
That looked rubbish.

Heated seats are not standard on a Golf R, but they are optional equipment. They form part of the 'Winter Pack, which comprises;

- Heated seats
- Heated wing mirror glass
- Heated screen wash

If you are looking at Golf Rs that do not have heated seats it is because the original purchaser/leaser did not spec the 'Winter Pack'

They are standard now, but weren't until a few months ago

Standard on Golf Match Edition with cloth seats, given an R is a good 10k more you'd expect them really

4 of my cars have had heated seats, 3 of them didnt have leather seats, so you may want to rethink...

I've owned two or three dozen cars, and I've only ever had heated cloth once. I've never had unheated leather.

I didn't state is as an empirical fact, I referred to my experience

One persons 'experience' is a futile piece of information, IME. biggrin

So lets just discard both our posts. rofl
