I am interested in a 2011 GL350. There appears to be a 224bhp and 265bhp variant but I don't know how to tell which one this is.

Any pointers please? I have reg, chassis and engine numbers. Any sites I can check these against please?

Thanks.

Autotrader.

Double check with MB though sometimes the database has errors.

All the VIN checkers list the car spec but nothing about the engine.

The ad in Autotrader suggests the higher power, as does another website (not MB) but my insurer thinks it's the lower one.

Nice that my premium is lower as a consequence but I'm buying it believing it is the higher powered one.

I'll check with MB. Good call - thanks.

Check the co2 output on the V5 or DVLA website, Id assume the 2 engine variants would have different outputs?

If you provide the VIN, I can supply what you need

So who was correct, Autotrader or your insurer?

Any update? I think the 265 engines had LS as part of the engine number, ie OM 642 LS.

Thankfully, not my insurer. smile

It's really good - OK it's no sports car but I worked that out of my system with Caterhams (plural) and a 4.5 TVR Cerbera.

With the air suspension it glides along at a frankly indecent rate considering its weight. The kids love the rear rear seats (their naming convention) and it's actually a little more economical than the W164 ML I traded it in for.

I am on the lookout for some suitable 20" wheels to replace the 21s it came with, so I can buy some AT tyres for it with a higher side profile. And some floor mats - no idea why they were missing.

Wear under the pedals, therefor looks tatty, dealer throws them in bin.
