Anyone running a sale / promo for it?

Just launched ours, usually busiest day of year (online ecommerce biz)

I run a B2B online store and never did one before but considering it now... is it odd for B2B shops to do one? I guess not.

As a consumer these sort of sales, and indeed the constant sales in shops really bug me and I have a theory its one reason why retail is in such trouble.

As a consumer I am reluctant to buy anything because it will annoy me intensely when the following week its in a sale at a 10, 20, 25% etc discount. Therefore I dont buy anything!

I'd much prefer that shops kept certain ranges fairly constant and at a price that wasnt discounted the whole time

Problem is game theory....

The same reason why companies are compelled to ramp advertising budgets to maintain share...

Yeah people extract the urine now, it used to be reserved for one day only, with truly great offers, oh well!

Just did it; well; sent a mailout to all customers and have done a targeted Facebook ad for the next 24 hours. I saw a competitor do one so thought it a must!

Sounds good, i'm sure it will be worthwhile.

Done email (will send perhaps 3/4 more over the weekend), SMS broadcast, just setting up the fb ads now also. Really would rather be getting to bed but there we go ha ha!

Seen some of the major have queue systems on their sites - good problem to have!!!

Yes woke up to 5 times the orders than normal! So it was a good thing I suppose, spurred on by a competitor doing the same.

Best of luck to everyone running one!

I couldn't believe an electric toothbrush was reduced for £299.99 to about £89.99 in Boots, who in their right mind would pay nearly 300 quid for a tooth brush in the first place. nuts.

B2B - are you not just condensing sales you would have got anyway ?
B2C guy did a Kickstarter finishing 4/11 he hustled and hit social and did all he can getting family support
and favours etc. He just delivered the KS ordes and now on Black Friday its ........ 40% off the KS I think a lot of his kit may be returned!

Turnover, a little less profit that usual due to discounts, however we acquired a good volume of new customers smile

Surely it might be worth revising your current price list?

Your turnover would go up 52 fold with a decent margin wink

This is the thing; we managed to grab a load of new customers and because we sell consumables; many will return (interested to see how many). All a part of the chess game.

Very nice to hear it went well.

My business (B2C ecommerce) goes insane around black friday due to steep discounting + we sell 80% to USA so there is more hype around BF there.
