Help .... my boot won't open

First of all, apologies as I know this topic has been discussed before but hopefully you can appreciate why I’ve started another.

My Chimaera (4.5lr, 1997) has suddenly decided not to let me in the boot. Pressing the button next to the steering wheel doesn’t do anything at all and after checking the fuse (which was OK) I’m assuming I need a replacement solenoid.
Opening the boot to do this is therefore a problem – on referring to my SH guide, his recommendation on emergency access was a waste of time.

Looking through this forum I now understand that there is a “secret” way of getting into the boot and for obvious reasons cannot be disclosed publically.
Please will one of you help …… I’d really appreciate it if someone could PM me with instructions. (Especially as the roof is locked in the boot and I also need petrol !).

Sorry, but I would feel that you will not be given any emergency entry information as it's your first post on the site. I would therefore suggest that you contact your local garage or the previous owner.
