Did your social life take a huge dive? If it even did.
In the past 6 months ive gone from seeing friends pretty often to finding it practically impossible to get anything arranged as they all seem to be settling down, proposing, moving in with thier partners, working more.
Its come as a bit of a shock to me and now im kind of stuck not doing a lot and getting frustrated with it.
I dont understand how settling down suddenly takes away time, i live with my partner but could always make time for people.
Anyone else experienced this?

21 - Met my misses, had a little girl, got a job where I work varied shifts (including nights), and moved about 40 minutes from my where I used to live.
So a combination of being on Dad-Duty and paying a mortgage left not as much spare cash/time to be spunking on nights out / days out etc.

I'd say mine nosedived in my late 20s - mainly due to my best mate hooking up with his GF.
We went from going out almost every weekend - to virtually nothing overnight. I think I have socialised with him/them a handful of times since they got together 14 years ago - and three of those occasions were due to weddings and a christening.

How old are you?
I'm 27 and it's got noticeably more difficult over last year to meet up with friends - 'life' just seems to get in the way
Im late twenties, i just dont understand why people suddenly have no time, i still appear to have a lot lol, and yes i work full time.I'm 27 and it's got noticeably more difficult over last year to meet up with friends - 'life' just seems to get in the way

It's quieter now - and I like it that way.
Same here.Being something of an introvert I've always found socialising draining and was glad when my life reached the point where people were settling down - it meant I was no longer criticised for not being a party animal and I could immerse myself in the things I really loved ... staying at home and making music, making art, reading, etc. I enjoy one-to-one contact with a good mate or partner who really 'gets' me, but group situations were always a drag in which I felt the odd one out. I was born a 'thirtysomthing' and was glad to reach an age when my reality resolved itself with my true self.

I'm in the same boat as you. All my friends are suddenly busy with whatever they're doing and I've got masses of time to kill at home.
The few who aren't so busy have all moved away. Either I need some new friends or start a new hobby. I've realised that pretty much my only pastime was going out drinking with friends

I'm 43, married, social life is bit too manic. 5 weddings and stag do's this year!
As friends have moved away instead of seeing them ten at a time in the pub, you see them in couples or the all at the odd party. This means 5 times as many visits to see them in couples, and you don't see them as often.
It would be nice to have a bit more time at home, but we have a lot of good friends and we wouldn't change this for the world.

Poor show when old mates can't stay in touch. The reasons for this are not very appealing to dwell on. We went from going out almost every weekend - to virtually nothing overnight. I'm 31 and don't yet believe my social life has taken a dive.
It's just a different form of socialising now that I do.
10 years ago, I would be out every Friday and Saturday night with mates in the pub and heading all over the country with car club events and all sorts.
Now I've cut back a load on the car stuff and don't go to the pub every weekend night, but, I still see my friends often, but it might be dinner out with them or hosting parties etc.
I'm also now happily married, as are most of my mates, or at least in relationships, some have kids.
Social life still active though - just a change.

At 25 I'm doing more now than I did when I was younger mainly as I have way more money to do things I really want to do ie racing.
Everyone else around me is starting to settle down so are always busy which is good for me as one I like my own company and can do things I want. With this I'm always pretty much the youngest competiting in the race series ive been doing this year and next year too.
Life is what you make of it don't let other rule your life if you are losing contact with others either make more time with them or find new friends/hobbies.
