Hey guys,

I know this has been discussed here previously so if anyone could point me to the right link would be much appreciated!

My boot only open a 5-6 mm so it is very difficult to open it. I know there is some DIY job I could attempt on the two springs that are meant to open it properly.

Just feeling sorry for the paintwork really, and I've noticed I started avoiding needing to open it! smile

Any advice-suggestions are very welcome!

Thanks

Charlie

After 3 Vantages, they are all the same. Popping the boot just releases the lock, it doesn't lift by itself.

I also have always found the tailgate very awkward to open, for very the same reason. Lifting the tailgate whilst at the same time, keeping every fingernail away from the paintwork, is a nuisance.

I had presumed an instance of 'they all do this Sir', but now wonder whether the springs should be providing greater lift, after operating the boot release.

Will now be interested in the experience of others.

Concur - only a small gap after pressing the button but it's ok if you take reasonable care and aren't wearing knuckle dusters.

Don't you just love first world problems! - Lift it with the palm of your hand on the back edge of the spoiler.

Thank you. Yes that is the way I do it.
Taller gents do first need to crouch down. A GT8 spoiler for Christmas would help.

I think the spoiler is the best idea!

Well, at least I know we are all struggling the same way! Brotherhood! smile

I favour the spoiler idea, it would make a great table for picknics smile
